Why I Do What I Do
Despite its evident potential and many attempts at propelling growth, sub-Saharan Africa remains trapped in a circle of underdevelopment. It is still adjudged the poorest region in the world and harbors the largest number of poor people in the world. Attempts to explain this recursive nature of growth and progress has led to a focus on institutions and leadership.
I have dedicated my career to building strong institutions in Africa. I believe that, at scale, the application of best practices in management in African economies can strengthen African institutions and transform the continent. To this end, in 2016, I launched my consulting business, and eventually started writing, speaking professionally, and teaching for business schools. I love what I do and I find purpose in dedicating myself to empowering entrepreneurs to achieve their full potential.
